Science Center Saturday

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Louisville Science Center with Jenny and Layton. We had a great time in the KidZone and enjoyed a family day on a Saturday. Enjoy some pics!

Driving the bus

Where's Layton?

They were drenched after waterplay!

Of course my husband was checking the whole water system out and telling me that he could make this at home. "It would be easy and something Addie could play with outside." For those of you that know Jeremy know that he often says, "I can just make that!" instead of doing the easier thing and just buying the item. There are advantages and disadvantages to having a very talented and handy husband. :)

Can you tell how wet she was? The raincoat didn't help too much.

Playing in the airplane cockpit. Addie picked up the phone and said "Hi...Elmo...Bye". Guess Elmo was helping to land the plane. Ha!

Listening to the heartbeat of a bird x-ray???

I think she likes the polar bear! :)

Random pics

Our friend Jason came over a few weeks ago. He just so happened to have his awesome DSR camera on him so I played with it while Jeremy and Jason played in the garage. The lighting wasn't the best in our house, but it was still fun to play with.

These are pictures right after bath time. You can see how curly Addie's hair is when it is wet. Anytime after she sleeps she has "Sealy Hair" (someone said that is what they called their son's curly hair)! :) It is hard to keep it not looking like a frizzy mess, but I love our curly-haired girl!

Enjoy! Have a great weekend!

Addie LOVES to color! I think this picture is so sweet.

Evidence of growing up

It's hard to believe our little girl will be TWO at the end of the month. We keep saying "She's so big!" Here is the evidence of our little one becoming a two-year-old...

1.) She looks so big compared to babies.

A couple of weekends ago we got together with Laura, Cory and their little boy, Dane and Liz and her little girl, Emma ("baby Emma" as Addie says). Addie looks soooo big compared to the other two in this picture.

2.) Even more independence.

We went to Chick-fil-a for dinner before church one night and Addie played on the jungle gym all by herself. No help needed going upstairs, climbing over stuff and going down the big tunnel slide. And she even waited her turn.

3.) Pigtails!

Yep, her hair is long enough for pigtails. Here she is posing in them. She keeps them in for a long time, too. It helps tame the rat's nest in the back of her head sometimes aka teased curls (as I guess I should call them). I gotta say, she looks so stinkin' cute in them!

4.) Learning to share and playdates.

Emma came over for an impromptu play date. It is apparent that Addie loves to interact with her friends (instead of playing side by side) and is learning to share. Both of the girls wanted to be in the car together. They both LOVE each other and play together at daycare all the time.

5.) Talking up a storm and mimicking us

Lately Addie has been putting blankets, towels, Jeremy's boxers, etc. (weird, I know) over Sadie and patting her saying "Night, night, Sadie...Sadie's sleepy...Shhh...etc." She is really starting to talk in sentences. "I want more milk, please, Daddy" is an example. She is saying words all the time that we have never heard her say before.

Stop growing up, little girl!!!

Hot Dog!!!

Thanks to our visit to Florida in September Cousin Dylan introduced Addie to Disney's "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and now she is obsessed! We don't let her watch tv too much, but in the mornings when she gets up at 6:00 or 6:30 it buys us a little time to wake up ourselves. :) She always wants to watch "Toodles!!!" (they say that on the show) and she loves to sing and dance to the "Hot Dog" dance (the dance at the end of the show). Here are a few clips of her doing just that, although she can get into it a lot more than this shows. Enjoy!

(P.S. These clips are from November and yes I can already tell home much she has grown since then. Will she stop growing up so fast already???!!!)

Let it snow!

With most of the rest of the country we got some snow last week then some bitter cold weather! Jeremy and I got off work early and we were excited to get Addie out in the snow. I think we had more fun than Addie did. I think every adult turns into a kid during a snow day! Enjoy some pics of our snow adventures...

Love this pic! Shoveling was her favorite part!

Originally Addie wasn't the biggest fan of the sled

Sadie LOVES snow!!!

Doesn't Layton look like a Tell-a-tubby (sp?)???

Then when her cousin Layton came she liked the sled better and wanted to pull him

Jeremy, Addie and I all went down the hill together. Jenny got a picture of it. By then Addie was DONE with the cold! Hopefully the next snowfall isn't in such bitter cold weather!

Warming up in the bathtub

Ha! Yes, Addie's hair is so long when it is wet. I think she looks like Cindy Lou-Who here. :)

And this was a picture from Saturday night. We had friends over for dinner. It was Italian night. Do you think Addie liked it? She had her second bath of the day following dinner. :)

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

On Christmas Eve we headed to Gary and Jamie's house (Leigh's mom & stepdad) for their annual Christmas Eve Open House. We then went to church and to Jeremy's cousin's house for his dad's big family get together. Santa made a visit to their house. The kids went nuts, while Addie flipped out again! They tried to get a picture with all of the great-grandkids and Santa, but I had to be in it to hold Addie and then her head was burried into my neck! I left my camera at Jamie & Gary's house that day...BUMMER...but I hope to get some pictures from Jenny and will post those soon.

Jeremy got sick on the 23rd and is still recovering a bit. He rallied during our festivities, but he definitely did a lot of resting in between. It was nice to just be the three of us on Christmas morning. Santa brought Addie a kitchen and she LOVED it. She has been cooking many items since then. Jeremy got me one of the BEST gifts I have ever received!!! He built a table for his Executive Director, Joe, at his work. (Check out his blog to see pictures of it.) I thought all along that it was a surprise to Joe from his wife and she would be paying him. Well Joe's wife is a watercolor artist and they bartered and she painted a portrait of our family. We have it hanging in our living room. I don't know how he will top that one!

On Christmas afternoon we headed over to Anthony and Jenny's house and that night my parent's arrived for a visit for a few days.

We had a busy month, but made wonderful memories! Having a child in the house makes Christmas even more special. It is a wonderful holiday to celebrate the Christ-child! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well! Enjoy some pictures. I'll try to post some cute videos soon. STAY WARM!!!

Shashi (the owner of her daycare) got Addie this cute bunny backpack that had 3 books in it

Playing with "Aunt Leigh" at her mom's house on Christmas Eve

Christmas morning...Needless to say, she LOVED her kitchen!

Checking out her stocking

A gift to remember...

Leigh made Addie this apron for Christmas. One side is for cooking and the other is for art. It is sooo cute! I told her to sell these suckers! She laughed and said it took a long time!
The other side. Unfortunately Addie won't be wearing it anytime soon since she doesn't like boas! :(

We made Christmas sugar cookies from scratch on Christmas day. My mom and I did this growing up and I hope to continue the tradition of baking cookies.

Having fun! (Jeremy cut me off...oops) I think she liked it! I think she thought the dough was play-dough. :)

At Jenny and Anthony's house on Christmas Day. Here's Addie jamming on Uncle Anthony's drums.

And with Layton, Papaw John and Mamaw Net

Final celebration with Grammy and Grandpa on the 26th. My parents got us a membership to the zoo! We're looking forward to putting it to good use when it gets WARM!

Helping me clean with her backpack on and one of her dress-up headbands. Check out all the loot in the picture. Project #1 of the New Year...clean out her toys!

Christmas pics

I'm trying to catch up on the blog now that all of the festivities are over. These are pictures Chad took at the beginning of December. We used a few for our Christmas card. Enjoy!

We hope you have a Happy New Year! 2009 was a wonderful year for us and we are excited to see what 2010 brings for our family! God bless!
