Last week was wonderful and we had beautiful weather for all of our company. We went to the park, went out to eat (Addie had a meltdown at Rafferty's the day she got all her shots causing Jeremy to take her home!), went to the chowwagon (basically fair food and fun as part of the Derby festival), took walks, grilled out and more. Sunday was a wonderful celebration. We dedicated Addison at church and then went out for brunch with our family. She was wonderful during the dedication. She was very alert, especially when our minister walked down the aisle to show her to the congregation. She went back to sleep right afterwards. It was a great way to celebrate Jeremy's 30th birthday, too! Old man! :) It was so nice having my parents and David, Carrie and Dylan all together. It doesn't get to happen very often since David lives in Florida. Their visit always seems way too short. We miss them!
I started back to work on Monday. I definitely was emotional when I was leaving. It helped that Jeremy stayed home with her. I think I was most emotional about realizing that my maternity leave was over and that time of bonding had come to an end. I had been with her non-stop that I felt weird at work not having an attachment to me. It was a long, tiring and hard day! It was nice to get back and see all of my colleagues and catch up. Jeremy's mom was on vacation this week and was able to watch her for a couple of days. It was so nice to have Betty help out and I am sure she didn't mind at all. :)
Have a great weekend! Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby! Go Baby Go!

2 months old
Addison Grace is two months old today!!! Hard to believe! She went for her checkup yesterday and received 4 shots...poor thing! She flip-flopped on her weight and height. She is in the 55% on weight, weighing 11 lbs. 3 oz., and 75% in height, measuring 23 inches. She definitely has not been herself the last 24 hours, but I guess I wouldn't be either if I had four shots in my leg!
Have a great weekend! Jeremy turns 30 on Sunday!!!!!!
Here's another picture from last weekend at the rehearsal dinner. The Butler gals and Addie!

First overnight weekend!
Sorry it has been a while since I posted. We have had a lot going on. Last week we had some beautiful weather (then accompanied by an earthquake!!! Yes, we felt in Kentucky!). We grilled out one night and took Addison out back. She loved just observing her surroundings.
Last weekend one of my good friends, Lindsay, got married in Indianapolis and I sang in the wedding. This was our first overnight weekend with Addison. She did great in the car. She got her schedule thrown off some, but managed pretty well. We stayed with Brad and Tara for the weekend. We first visited Brooke and Brandon and their new little guy, Garrett. He is too cute! Addie got really hot while I was feeding her and the Klines got to see her temper. She was screaming at the top of her lungs for a couple of minutes. I think they were quite surprised by her decibel level! We also got to see Ashley and Bryan Callahan, more friends of ours. We got to give them a gift of a couple packages of newborn diapers we didn't use because they are having triplets!!!! She will probably have the babies in late Sept./early Oct. and I think they will need all the diapers they can get. We joked about putting a chute from the nursery out to a dumpster in the backyard for diaper disposal. :) We are excited for them and pray that Ashley has a healthy pregnancy with three bambinos!
We then went to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Addison came with us so my friends could meet her. She got pretty worked up because the restaurant was very loud and there were kids everywhere! Dan and Lindsay have 22 nieces and nephews between the two of them! She did pretty well despite the circumstances and I was so glad they all got to meet her. On Saturday Brad and Tara watched Addie while we were at the wedding and reception. This was the first time both of us together had been away from her all day. It was definitely a weird feeling and we were excited to get back to see her. It also felt nice to be just the two of us and enjoy the time together. The wedding and reception was beautiful! We wanted to stay longer at the reception, but knew we had to get back since Brad and Tara also have a 2-year-old to keep up with. We can not thank them enough for watching her on Saturday!
Brady, their son, is very good with babies and was lovin' on Addison the whole time. They put Brady down to sleep on Saturday night and Addie started crying because it was time for her to eat her last feeding. With Brady's door closed, while he was laying in bed, he screamed, "Don't cry, baby Addie! It's ok, baby Addie!" It was too cute! We went to church on Sunday morning and met up with the Klines for breakfast at Jeremy's favorite place, Le Peep. That boy can't seem to go to Indy without eating Le Peep and eating their granola blueberry pancakes. He is obsessed!
Well, we survived our first overnight weekend with a baby. We definitely had a lot more things to pack in a car!
This is my last week home. I will be starting back work next Monday. I am trying to get a lot of things done before I return, but also enjoy the time with Addison. I will be ending my maternity leave well because David, Carrie and Dylan are coming to visit this week from Florida! We can't wait for Addison's aunt, uncle and cousin to finally meet her. My parents will also be down for a couple of days. On Sunday Addison will be dedicated at church. We have a great week ahead!
Enjoy the sunshine! :)

Right after Brady gave "baby Addie" a kiss. Looks good, huh? He loves her and we love it, but one day this will all change and Jeremy will have to put an end to all those kisses!

Springtime!
On Sunday Jeremy was successful feeding Addison and getting her ready for church so I could sing in the praise team. He was even there early! She really did well taking a bottle. I laid out a cute dress and sweater for her to wear. Jeremy couldn't find any socks or shoes that fit and matched so he decided to put her in her bunny slippers! Yes, our daughter wore slippers to church! The next day I went out and bought some plain white socks so this will never happen again. Only a dad. :) I forgot to take a picture, but I may have to reenact it so you can see what it looked like.
My friend Meagan from college had a birthday this past Monday. Her boyfriend surprised her by driving her down from Cincinnati on Sunday to meet Addie. She was totally surprised! We hung out for a bit and went to lunch. It was great!
We hope you have had beautiful weather like we have lately! Jeremy actually took off most of the day on Tuesday so we (mostly him) could work in the yard. Leigh is on spring break (she's a teacher) so she came over on Monday and Tuesday to hang out. She also taught me how to sew on her sewing machine. Apparently with having a child I have to become more domestic. :) We grilled out that night with Leigh and Chad and hung out by our fire pit. It felt like a weekend night. With all the nice weather Addie and I have been able to go on lots of walks, too.
We think Addie just went through a growth spurt. I have read that it is common around 6 weeks. For three nights at her 5:00 p.m. feeding she would eat for a bit and then scream bloody murder for about 10-15 minutes. On Wednesday night the same thing happened at her 8:00 p.m. feeding. This is not like her. It was either a growth spurt or she is just really gassy. Last night she was wonderful...let's cross our fingers. It is so sad to see her so upset and not know what is wrong. We just wish she could tell us. I guess this all a part of the parenting journey!
Have a great weekend! We will NOT be going to Thunder Over Louisville (the kickoff to the Derby Festival for all you non-Louisvillians). It is supposed to be cold and juggling a baby in that crowd would not be a good idea!
Addison in her Polo onesie...with her collar popped. :) Kelly Puckett gave this to her, so we felt it was appropriate to take her picture like this. I think Addison is confused by it all.
The gals
This is the outfit that Jeremy dressed her in with slippers!
My tulips are blooming...I love spring!
Is this not the perfect picture? This is how Jeremy was greeted when he came home from work today.

Smiles!!!
This week I took Addie to my work to meet all of my colleagues. Yesterday we visited Jeremy at his work for lunch to show her off to all of his colleagues. Addie is still sleeping well, but some nights is still resisting going to bed a little earlier. I am trying to get her on a good schedule before I go back to work. I still have some time so that when I do she will be all settled.
We want to say a big congratulations to Brooke and Brandon! Their son was born yesterday at 4:59 p.m. Garrett Emerson was 6 lbs. 15 oz. Addie and Garrett will be great friends (maybe boyfriend and girlfriend...but I don't think Jeremy will allow it)! She actually has many boyfriends to choose from one day because most all of our friends have boys or about to have a boy. :) You may remember from a previous post that our college friends hosted a shower for us. Congrats! We love you and can't wait to meet him!
We are starting to see more of Addison's personality. She is staying awake more after she feeds and is really starting to smile! She absolutely loved her bath the other night. She was smiling and kicking her legs. It was so much fun! Lots of pictures are posted below including some from her 2 week portraits from JCPenney.
Trying to catch a picture of her smiling
Lovin' bath time (except when we have to clean around the folds of her chin, or should I say chins?) She is focusing on the camera that she looks cross-eyed. Look at the belly!
Hanging out in the sun
Is she saying she is 4? Or throwing a gang sign? Or waving? :)
Sleeping on dad's chest
Spring is here. Jeremy spotted 4 baby bunnies in our back yard. Now if we could get it to stop raining for more than 1 day!
Can you tell we had to yank out the pacifier every time right before taking the picture? :)
