iPad dump

The past few months I haven't been as good about taking pictures with my DSLR, especially when we are just at home.  I have taken lots of photos with our iPad and Jeremy's phone.  And I just got an iPhone so I am sure I'll be taking lots of photos on it.  I love the convenience of snapping a photo with the iPad and phone, but I am not the best about getting them off the iPad/phone.  So I finally dumped some photos from the iPad.  Enjoy these snapshots.

My friend Laura made these tutus and the girls are showing them off.   Thanks, Laura!

I have been hosting a monthly craft night at our house.  Jeremy ends up usually doing at least one of our crafts with all of the skills and tools he has. :) It is lots of fun with good friends!  And sometimes babies come along too.  Love those cuddles!

We often play hair salon at our house.  Addie's salon name is "Pretty Accessories" and her name is "Wedding Girl". :)  Sometimes daddy is her client.  And sometimes it is Sadie.

While playing in the back yard Addie found this stone.  She said, "Daddy, what is this?"  He said, "You know what that is, buddy?  It is a dinosaur tooth!"  You should have seen her expression!  Gullible.  She took it to daycare everyday for a week to show it off.

Kate has discovered Addie's car.  She doesn't really know how to steer and just keeps pushing the gas pedal down.  Luckily it doesn't go too fast.  Ha!

Sometimes on the weekends Addie gets to sleep in her princess tent.  Here is bedtime stories.

Enjoying some warm weather.

Addison is really into coloring a lot lately.  She could sit for hours to color.  She is very good at it and always does detailed and colorful drawings.

Grammy got Addie a UofL Cards shirt.  She asked for one for a long time.  I joked she needs to put some Butler pants with it.  Put your Ls up!

Our dear friend Kelly moved to NYC on May 1.  She is like another family member to us and Addie says she is her best friend.  Kelly was our nanny the first summer when Addison was a baby so they have always had a special bond.  We enjoyed one last night together with her.  Farewell cards, silly faces, s'mores, bedtime stories and more.  We love and miss you, Kel.  Looking forward to more FaceTime dates.

I sometimes have a hard time keeping up working full-time, working with Jeremy owning his business, keeping up with the house, being a friend, being a mother and more, but when I look back at these "snapshots" it makes me realize that even though we don't always get to do bigger outings sometimes all of the small things add up to great moments and memories. Here's to more small things/snapshots.

Thunder Over Louisville

We went to Thunder Over Louisville this year.  Thunder is the biggest fireworks show in the nation (so they say) and has an air show to go with it and is the kickoff to Derby Festival.  Jeremy's great aunt gave us passes to an area that had food, some drinks and an area to sit.  Knowing we had a place to go made it easier to take the kids.  There are lots of people downtown!  My parents came with us and we met up with some of Jeremy's family and David and family.

We got there around dinnertime and were able to see some of the air show.  Kate LOVES planes!  We live near a small airport so we see a lot of planes in our neighborhood.  As soon as she hears it she immediately starts looking for the plane.

Jeremy making plane sounds.

Kate checking out the planes.

Addie pretending to be a plane.

Jeremy's aunt and uncle had a camper in the camper area.  We hung out with them most of the night.  It was so nice of them to let us crash their pad and we were able to use their bathroom too.  Sweet!  You can probably tell it was a very chilly day so it was nice to also go in the camper to warm up.

Jeremy trying on Kate's hat.  He has such a peanut head!  Ha!

Jeremy's Uncle Mark and Kate watching the planes.

Once it got dark we made our way back to our original seats.  It got really cold!  We tried to stay warm waiting for the fireworks.

And then it was time for the 30 minute fireworks show!

Addison LOVED it.  She really hasn't seen much fireworks before.  It was amazing to see it through her eyes.  A precious memory.  Kate did really well too. When I asked her right at the beginning if she liked the fireworks she responded, "No" while shaking her head.  One minute later she said "Yes".  A few minutes later it was "No".  Ha!  She didn't like the really loud ones, but really liked to watch them all.

It was a long day and a late night.  Can you tell?  :)

Some highlights from April

April 8th was a great day! The Louisville Cards won the NCAA tournament during an awesome game & tournament run (wished the Bulldogs had gone farther in the tournament but I was happy to cheer them on at Rupp during the first round...sorry, sidetracked) AND our new niece was born!  Jeremy's younger brother, Justin and his wife, Cristina, welcomed Charlotte Jean into the world.  Here are a few pictures from the hospital.  What a cutie!

And not too much longer until we have another niece!  Jenny is due at the beginning of July.

I decided to take a day off in April when we actually had some nice weather.  I took the girls to the zoo for the first time this year.  We haven't been since October.  My mom was able to go with us.  It was a beautiful day for it.

There wasn't that many people there since we went in the late afternoon during the week.  Addie enjoyed really getting to see some animals up-close without any crowds.  Here she is posing with the gorillas.

Kate loves animals!  Well, I guess apparently only on tv, in books or from afar.  The poor girl was terrified most of the day with any large animals: elephants (even from very far away), gorillas, bears, etc.  She did however love the fish. Ha!  Baby steps.  I actually think this is the age when Addie was scared at the zoo.  She was scared of a small turtle swimming one time.  I suppose we need to make good use of our membership this year so Kate can warm up to the large animals.  Ha!

Big Four Bridge

In early April we had a decent spring day so we decided to check out the new Big Four bridge.  Louisville recently opened a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that was an old railroad truss bridge.  It goes over the Ohio River by downtown in the Waterfront Park area.  The Indiana side isn't open yet, but should be soon.  It's a good walk going across and back, at least 1 1/2 miles.  It was a little chilly and windy up on the bridge that day, but it was nice to see so many people taking advantage of the bridge.  The girls enjoyed it and Jeremy likes to explain structural stuff to Addie so I think he enjoyed it too. 😀  Plus, as you can see from the pictures below Jeremy got a good workout while carrying one (or sometimes both) of the girls.

The big loop is the ramp to get to the bridge.

Kate right at the beginning of the bridge.  Baby came along too.

Addie made these "binoculars" out of toilet paper rolls at daycare the week prior for space week so she wanted to take them with her on the bridge.  She used them a lot.  It was cracking people up when we walked by.

Sweet Kate holding her baby.

Love these two photos.  So sweet!
