I'm leaving on a jet plane

I'm heading out first thing Friday morning to go to Florida for the weekend with four other fabulous DG friends! It is just a quick weekend trip, but I am so looking forward to a weekend with the girls!

Addie was trying to help me pack. She's a real big help!

And I am SPENT! Way too many blog posts in one night. Have a great weekend! I'll be on the beach! :)

Weekend Part 3: Zoo with Layton

We watched Layton on Sunday afternoon so we decided to take the kids to the zoo. We didn't stay too long because it was crowded and so hot! Still waiting on the fall weather! We better get some fall weather before winter comes because we didn't have much of a spring and summer has been insane...sorry, got sidetracked!

Heading into the zoo. Look at these cool cats!

Not quite the size of a gorilla

Looking at one of the gorillas

Jeremy had his hands full trying to control ice cream to two toddlers while we waited for the seals to come out.

Layton is such a boy! He was trying to tackle Addie and she was just whining and didn't quite understand what he was trying to do. Jeremy kept saying, "You're older than him, Addie! Get him back!"

We obviously had a busy weekend, but it was so nice to spend some quality time as a family. Definitely something I needed!

Weekend Part 2: Soccer and country fun!

Dylan had his very first soccer game on Saturday. We had to go cheer him on. Addie kept say "GO Dylan!", "Go DeeDee!" (she calls him that). The game was so funny to watch! I hope Addie wants to play soccer because it is a MUST with my family! :)

Addie and Dawson enjoyed the snacks the most

Look at this kid! He is so grown up!

On Saturday afternoon we went over to Jeremy's dad's and stepmom's house. Annette's birthday was this past weekend and John wanted a good excuse to smoke/barbeque lots of meat!

Annette bought a little "Gator" for Addie and Layton. Too funny!

Feeding the cows apples. Addie was a little hesitant (who can blame her, they are big!) but she ended up feeding one of the cows.

And this is afterward. I guess the cow's mouth was on Addie's hand and she did not like it! Can you tell? :)

Riding the big Gator...they have lots of toys

Weekend Part 1: Beargrass family night

Our church had a family night luau style last Friday night. There was a potluck, games, arts & crafts and then a movie afterwards. We didn't stay for the movie to get Addie to bed...which resulted in a lovely tantrum...we have a lot of those these days. :) It was fun time for all. My cousin Steven does the children's ministry at our church and he does such a wonderful job!

Check out this face...I would smile like that too after a cookie and a cupcake! Geez!

The arts & craft activity...pouring colored sand into the cross necklace. Addie was so proud!

And these are just some of the kids...

Lucy and Addie ADORE each other! Lucy stayed by Addie's side the whole time helping her with the games (Addie was one of the younger ones there). Lucy is in the second grade and is such a sweet girl. Her dad was one of my high school sponsors when I was in the high school youth group. They are such a wonderful family!

In line to bowl...the adults were the bowling pins. :)

Cincy shower & bachelorette party

Two weekends ago I traveled to Cincy for Meagan's shower and bachelorette party. I met Meagan the day I moved to Butler. Meagan and Amanda lived across the hall from me. We have still remained friends after all of these years. It was great to be all together again to celebrate Meagan. I forgot how much fun these girls are!

Part of Meagan and Ryan's front porch. I would LIVE out here if I lived in their house. The house is very old with gorgeous woodwork, big doors and lots of details (Jeremy would love it). The front porch wraps around the side. It is an incredible home in Newport!

The Bachelorette!

The Fab Five...over 10 years later. Things have changed since our freshmen year at Butler!

Can't wait to be back together again in November for the wedding!

Dance like no one is watching

A few weeks ago we had Zac Brown Band playing while we were doing some housework and Jeremy walked in to find Addie dancing like this. I grabbed the camera, but she ended up seeing me. She still continued to dance a bit even though she knew I was taping. And yes you can tell how much she LOVES dresses and skirts in this video. She wants to wear them everyday. I am fearful for the winter when I have to, God forbid, put JEANS on her!

May we all remember to do this once in a while...

Camera clean-up

Some cute pics over the past month...cleaning off the camera...

A few weeks ago we met up with Betty and Randy at Costco. They were watching Layton. Addie and Layton held hands in the store. Too cute!

This is what Addie's hair looks like in the mornings. And YOU thought you had bad hair days!

I painted Addie's toenails for the first time a few weeks ago. She loved it! Yes, those are silly bands. She got them at a birthday party and wants to wear them all of the time.

It was Pajama Day at daycare a couple of weeks ago. This was right before we left. The kids watched "Princess and the Frog" and had cookies and milk. Addie came running to me when I picked her up and said, "Mommy, mommy, we watched Princess and the Frog. It's my FAVORITE!!!" I laughed because she has hardly seen any full-length movies and that was the first time she had seen it. She talks about Princess Tiana all of the time now.

Labor Day weekend

We headed down to Lake Cumberland for Labor Day weekend. I only have a few pics from the weekend.

Feeding the ducks right off the dock

Taking a quick boat ride in the morning

On Labor Day my grandmother's retirement home has a big picnic with lots of fun stuff to do. Here Addie and Jeremy are in front of all of the old cars.

Dylan enjoying his SpongeBob ice cream.

Going down one of the many blow-up slides...

They look SO big!

Riding one of the ponies. She did great!

These are for you, Ashley! :)

There was a petting farm. The goat liked Jeremy!

The great grandkids (plus David) with their Grandma Great...I hate that Addie is in the sun.

She's making this face because she is loving the bag of popcorn. It was practically her dinner. You win some, you lose some! :)

So excited about fall and all the things that come with it...pumpkins, apple cider, baking yummy breads, the smells, the colors and more!

Fair, family and more

Last Saturday we went to the KY State Fair with David and Carrie and the boys. It is awesome to be able to do these types of things with them now that they live here. It was hot and expensive, but the fair only comes around once a year so we had to do lots of stuff, right?

This was an amazing display of all balloons. It was an underwater theme. Amazing! We looked around for a while because there was so much to see!

The merry-go-round. Last year Addie said, "Mine, mine!" as soon as we took her off it. She was better this year, but was on to the next ride.

The fun slide with Addie, Jeremy, David and Dylan.

Right at this moment Addie hops up and says, "Again, daddy, again!"

Next the fire truck

On to the airplanes

Dylan and Addie riding high! There were many rides Addie couldn't ride because she was too short. She did NOT like that. She kept saying, "I am big, mommy! I'm tall, mommy!" She didn't get the concept of not being tall enough for some rides.

The following Sunday we had yet another birthday party. This one was for Craft (Jeremy's cousin's son). He turned 3!

On Sunday evening we watched all three of our nephews. It was all hands on deck!

Layton and Dawson playing inside the cabinet. It was cool to see them play together because they are close in age yet have never been around each other before. Their personalities are night and day different!

They eventually cleared out the entire cabinets and got completely inside of it. Where did Layton go?

Here is what our house looked like at some point. We were tired at the end of the night, but had fun! Addie had a blast with all of her cousins.
